ARCHIVAL POLYESTER SEALANT

LBS has made a significant addition to our production floor. In the Fall of 2009, construction began on the new Spray Room, designed to house an original system for spraying archival sealant onto photostat negatives. Photostat negatives contain a lot of printed ink. Public use and time erode the ink, and as the ink flakes off, the text becomes illegible and lost. LBS’s Archival Polyester Sealant will preserve photostat negatives for long-term use and storage. After treatment, the photostat negative ink is permanently sealed to the paper. The sealant provides abrasion resistance, reducing fading caused by public use. UV absorbers block 99% of UV light, which greatly limits the fading effects of light exposure. A quick eraser test confirms that the sealant works; no ink can be rubbed off.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Contributions from LBS staff made the LBS Thanksgiving Lunch a feast to remember. Several tables had to be pulled together to accommodate the large spread, and employees lined up all the way past the Imaging Department for a turn to fill their plates. There were certainly enough delicious entrees, sides, and desserts to go around. Thanks again everyone!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

LBS celebrated the Halloween season, Thursday, October 29, when a cast of crazy characters showed up for work. Though nothing was offically planned, the place was overrun by rockstars, mulletted-marauders, b-boppers, glam-vamps, ghouls and more. Everyone enjoyed the creative and silly costumes. Thanks for the fun, guys, and happy Halloweeeeeeeen!

LBS EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION DAY

LBS's First Annual Employee Appreciation Day was a huge success. Saturday, September 26, 2009, featured fine weather, friends, and family at DeRidder's Bryant Park for a day full of fun, games and prizes. Emilie's catered the event with a delicious spread of barbequed brisquet, baked beans, and potato salad. Employees and their families were greeted with the new employee t-shirts, small welcoming gifts, and raffle tickets for the various door prizes. Children and adults alike enjoyed the inflatable jump and bungee run, as well as horseshoes, ring tosses, and other games.
